Chicken Wings
« on: 09/17/11 20:38:03 »
I did 30 Thawed Tyson Chicken wings in the Big Easy today. I did to take pics... :( I forgot!

I cut up 3 small grill grates to make racks.  I just left tabs for them to stick in the turkey rack. I put 10 on each rack,  left them in for 50 minutes and they came out perfect! Shook them 1/2 in Anchor bar Medium wing sauce, and 1/2 in Buffalo Company hot wing sauce.  They were Yummy!! We should have made more! LOL!

I started making racks at work the other day but ran out of time, I just have to weld them up monday and they will be self standing rack with a swivel so you can access all three rows easily!!

Will post pics!

CyberSlash69,  If you have access to the equipment and welding capability you are going to have a ball copying some of the existing racks and also maybe inventing some of your own.  Who knows, Char Broil make purchase them from you and make them available to everyone. Let us know and see what you're working on.  You could probably get some ideas from folks here asking them to PM you with their ideas.  Just thinking.  Dee

So, I didn't get to do it myself, a friend at work made it up for me.  But I think it turned out great.  It is actually being seasoned as I write this. :) Hope you like it!

Nice rack. I would like to see you add a handle on top like the racks that come with TBE/SRG.

How is the balance?

I would love to have one of those racks. Man, the wings i could cook with that.

Actually we are working on a design for the handle.  Also, the balance with the "fake" wings is actually really good as long as you take the wings off in order.. While placing wings on the rack you have to work from the bottom up, and just the opposite while taking the wings off.

Here is something else we made for the Turkeys, chickens.

OK, a little more mod I would like to see. I would like to see the bottom a little higher to get past the dead zone on the TBE/SRG. Think Tommy ring.

I would like to see some holes/grates on the bottom to allow the IR and juices to flow. Other than that I think you have something going.

Dang, RAD, chickens already fear you.  With a rack like that wings would be hard to find for the rest of us.  You'd have 'em all.
